About

Whatever your passion, whitewater rafting or fly fishing the Northern Rocky Mountains, Western Waters has an outdoor adventure for you. Western Waters offers exciting, day long rafting trips filled with class II and III whitewater rapids, and our guided fishing trips on the Blackfoot and Clark Fork Rivers can be enjoyed for a half day or a full day (See rates). Our clients typically catch rainbow, cutthroat, bull, and brown trout.

Our headquarters are located in Superior, Montana, a 1 ½ hour drive East of Coeur d’Alene Idaho and 45 minute drive west of Missoula, Montana. Our rafting out post is conveniently located at the start of the Alberton Gorge, Cry exit #70 on I-90. We take great pride in showing you our backyard, which is surrounded by mountains, ponderosa pines, streams and an abundance of wildlife.

Another plus, we’re locals!!! Montana grown and hometown friendly – look no further for the real deal.

Western Waters strives to be eco-friendly. Here are some examples of how we are doing so.

1. Solar panels: We are ecstatic about our new solar panels and will post pics for you to check out as soon as we can!

2. Local fresh garden grown produce: You get to eat some of our delicious home grown vegetables if you go on a day fly fishing or white water rafting trip with us.

3. Bio-diesel: Our good ole bus Surfer Steve!

Our whitewater rafting trips take you down 14 miles of the Clark Fork River through the Alberton Gorge. In addition to the gorge’s awesome fifteen rapids, the river runs past gorgeous scenery and meanders through deep canyons with crystal blue tributaries. There is plenty of history and folk lore to be encountered during your rafting trip down the Clark Fork River. Perhaps our lunch is the highpoint of all of our full day trips–served with our fresh homegrown vegetables (when in season), delicious dessert and our homemade focaccia bread. Isn’t it time to go white water rafting!!!

So, whether you are an avid fly fisherman or a novice eager to learn a new way to spend time in the great outdoors, our guides will accommodate your needs. We track the hatches and know how to spend the day enticing the native cutthroat, bull, and brown trout to strike on the day to day patterns.
